I try to do all the heavy lifting at home, you know doing the usual house hold chores. And I always insist on schlepping my luggage or groceries (if they are heavy). My poor partner deespears over this, he thinks he should do it, but then I just do my awful Arnold impersonation and shout: SHOCK THE MUSCLE!

@Pim Jansson my dad is logical, i just need to bring enough evidence, the bigger problem is getting him to actually watch the proof in the first place. he doesn’t have the stamina for lectures that i do.

I used to love wieght lifting. All my weights got left in a move though. Her ass and legs look freaking amazing! The spring its hard for me to have the energy for wieght lifting after a day in the garden though. I need to start now with just my bodyweight so i dont die come spring.πŸ˜… You would think carrying a toddler would do more.πŸ˜‚

Yes!! That’s why we have about 80% of the muscle mass of men in our lower body. Only 50% on our upper bodies though.

      February 14, 2020 at 4:19 am

Different kind of strength, still useful though πŸ™‚

Also want to throw it out there but naturally speaking women would have carried weight constantly. Our ancestors didnt have thier menfolk carrying stuff around for them. We where mothers and shieldmaidens!

I don’t know. Stock photo from a Norwegian photographer. My guess is that this chick is doing cross fit (looking at the equipment laying around).

You have great content; I always learn something. I’ve been weightlifting for 20 yrs. I use several sets of adjustable dumbbells that can be easily increased. I’ve saved tons of $$ & time by weightlifting at home. Plus I get tons of little stuff done between sets. I haven’t been successful at talking any women friends into following suit though. It seems that they’d prefer to complain about back pain, etc. rather than trying something that requires effort. How many therapists does it take to change a light bulb? Only one, but the light bulb has to *want* to change.

I totally hear you! So much easier for most women to go into an aerobics class or at the most doing Body Pump thinking that it’s the best way to do their toning strength training…
I’ve always loved weights, but I’m a minority.

That’s so strange about the bell. Maybe you’ve already hit it in the past?

After gaining muscle mass to your desired level, will training with weights that arent heavy enough to cause you make further gains, actually solidify or maybe, improve the quality of the present muscle mass? Here’s where my mind is at right now. Growing up, I knew a couple of guys who were in the same family. They did local strongman competitions like lifting wood logs, climbing poles, pulling cars and stuff like that. These guys always won in every competition but the thing about them is they werent even that big. Much smaller than a lot of guys they competed with They were the slanky, skinny, super lean type with muscles that were not balooning like the other gym dudes. We used to call them “retard strong” LOL.. I know its offensive to say this today but it was kind of a true thing that some aggressive, mentally handicap people were dangerously powerful when they’d throw a fit or have a crisis. Looking in retrospect, I think these strongmen might’ve had a primarly carnivorous diet.. or is it genetics? Or what was it? A secret way of training? Is there such a thing as more dense, more powerful muscles? Like lean carnivore muscles vs fatty carbivore muscles.

    • Lukegear

      February 14, 2020 at 4:19 am

@Fapnado For sure, because I suspect, that more than just having strong dense muscles, the quality of one’s connective tissue helps a lot with leverage and proper musco-skeletal transference of force. So I’m guessing carnivore will not just make your muscles tougher and denser but improve the overall composition and compound functioning of all your muscles. This is particullary helpful in the context of dealing with asymetrical and unstable loads, the sort of bizarre strength we associate with mental patients.

    • Fapnado

      February 14, 2020 at 4:19 am

@Lukegear Right. I want to understand exactly what promotes the densest leanest most powerful muscle. As it is right now I’m convinced without having much evidence that carnivore is the key just because this is how we’ve existed for so long. But if theres a strong genetic or any other component to it, I’d like to know!

      February 14, 2020 at 4:19 am

Turns out there’s a lot more to hypertrophy than we think. The recent nuclei overload craze and the high volume training approaches are showing tremendous results, even though they deal primarily with low weights. It’s actually posible to bulk up a lot, without getting that much stronger. And the reverse is possible as well, to a degree, as your peak strenght is limited by the cross-sectional area of your muscles. Anyway, don’t want to flood but there’s a lot of finesse to the subject πŸ™‚

Pim, you should be heading to bed, it’s too late! also in terms of youtube view performance if you can regularly post videos at times your viewers are most likely to be ready to watch you may significantly boost views. first few hours of a video being published have big effects on the algorithm
