    @6:23 Paddy straightens his legs almost instantly and then his back has to catch up. That’s a lot of pressure on the back. Legs and back should reach the straight/vertical point at the same or similar time right????

    Hey Eddie big fan of yours. Just started to watch you and Brian about 4-5 months back you guys are hilarious. Just wondering how to gain weight. It’s such a struggle for me to because I have such a fast metabolism and I’ve tried to do protein and eat all the right things but I just feel like I’m missing something.     Just decided to get back into my training after many years of inactivity, and where I was once very good (and strong) on deadlifts upon my return I’ve been plagued by lower back injury. Having watched one of your videos on technique for the deadlift and squatting until your shins meet the bar, I’ve had no further issues with my back, so thanks 💪

    Eddie I’ve got a question, when you do the deadlifts, what’s the reasoning behind you not lifting your neck/head at the top of the movement? Or is it just personal preference?

    Yo Patty is awesome. Eddie maybe get the non- strong men ,like Patty etc, to try doing some of those events. Like Patty said its cool to try those kind of things. Plus its fun watching people who never have any experience with strong man events give it a try.

    I find these videos very inspirational. I am 46, i have Ankylosing Spondylitis, which has recently gone into remission so i’ve started strength training. I use the three principles of power lifting, my body feels great! Would be great for any advice on training with a medical condition, otherwise keep them vids coming!!!

    Ok have a question Eddie

    In one of your videos you say that you can’t recover from a heavy sesh in less than 10 days.

    So with that in mind how do you do it?

    1 week heavy then 1 week speed?

    Fair play to paddy I know I couldn’t pick up/carry a 165 frame walk! No better people to learn this from though like Martyn and Eddie, giving their knowledge and experience to paddy and then to keep going back is certainly respectable and shows character and determination.     What kind of gumshield is Eddie using?
    Looks very comfortable for people who tense their jaws a lot while working hard.
    The only ones I’ve seen before are the ones that have full cover and some with a silly tube down the centre, and this seems much better for strength training.

    Whenever i lift heavy, I experience dizzyness and lightheadedness almost every time. Anyone know what might cause that?

      @xdanihz mine this is exactly how I train. Everyone suggests breathing but I breathe every rep. When I say I lift heavy that’s obviously relative to me, normally around 3 plates for a working set of deadlifts.

      Perhaps lack of oxygen for the brain, you are maybe holding your breath for too long. But I’m no expert. Whenever I lift heavy I take a big breath before lifting, and then hold it till the rep is complete. Then repeat. Perhaps this could help

    Hey Eddie can I get some advice, I tend to train around 8:30-9am every morning and was wondering what should I have in the window before training I make sure I get at least 2 liters of water and a big bowl of porridge but I also like to take pre workout and wanted to know what your thoughts are on when to take the pre workout considering I’m eating breakfast around 7:20 am I’ve heard some ppl say to take it on a empty stomach and others say not to lift heavy on a empty stomach either what’s your opinion?

    *I always rant about the farmer’s carry I’ve done thousands; keep Paddy on the frame it’s far superior to the bars for results even if you have to do 30% less weight.*
    Because of the holding form you have to take to use it *EVERYTHING* from the waist up grows like mad even my pecs get bigger after a week of it. It hits my traps better than a deadlift, shrugs, trapbar etc. and all around, for me personally, the results are far superior to the deadlift in a work in to results out ratio.
    *Mine is variable width and the handles 3′ apart ATM but if I got 3.5′ and drop the weight, I’ll see more size and strength growth than with a narrower grip range.* It’s a pro-testimony to bodybuilders who obsess over form; this is a lift where they’re 110% right.

    I have a small concern about ym technique.
    On the way up it has to go in a straight line, so far so good. But on the way down the bar goes a bit forward when I´m doing DL. Is that normal or do I need to cahnge sth?

      Hard to say with out seeing you do it, but it sounds like from standing position you need to do hip hinge first (before bending knees) and let your hips go back as you bend you knees so that your knees do not come forward and require you to push the bar forward to avoid hitting them.

    Really enjoy watching these videos, have you considered getting some women involved? There are so many young women at my gym who are intimidated to even enter the weights room. Maybe seeing that women can lift weights too will encourage them to go for it?

      @UCSkZlrBWjgaMYriPSxYFsPA It depends on the female. As an old broad that uses words like fuck and cunt as if they’re commas, I have no problem. There are guys in the gym I talk to where every other word is fuck or some form of it and guys who you just don’t swear in front of, just depends. Same for joking around. I’ve heard some really stupid shit that has me rolling my eyes but nothing that’s ever been offending. It’s a fucking joke, take it or leave it.
      As for other females, no clue, they don’t talk to me. 🤷‍♀️
      It’s funny at the gym I go to there’s a lot of chippies that come in wearing booty shorts with their tits and asses hanging out doing 5 pound DB deads offering their cooters up like a fucked-up episode of Good Eats but they hear you say fuck then all of a sudden you’re the “tacky” one that needs to learn manners. LOL
      You can usually tell in the first couple of minutes but I do agree, for the most part, females are a fuckin’ downer when it comes to being able to talk freely.

    I see Eddie’s channel is trying to keep it clean like Brian’s channel, as far as the language goes. Brian’s channel you very rarely hear anyone swearing, (actually it was usually Eddie..lol) but they would bleep it and now Eddie’s channel is doing the same.       They do it for the sake of being family friendly, and because Youtube is really cracking down on channels with lots of cursing. It’s ridiculous for the platform itself to be punishing content creators for what words they use, but it’s been a long time since Youtube had any sense of sanity or reason.

      @John Partridge yeah strong men take long brakes betwen lifts. They use all theyr power lifting then rest. A crossfiter or chalestetics guy don’t use power as mutch and relye more on long endurance periods rather then maxing out muscles.
